After spending a “little” more than one hour on the project today, I’m finally finished. I “only” wanted to add a background picture today but because of how the gameloop is coded, that was a little more complicated then I imagined. When things were finally working the way I wanted them to work I couldn’t get the game to compile in release mode. But even after they worked on my pc, I still couldn’t share them, because I had to add the vcruntime140.dll to the package. I’m always learning more about Visual Studio … Now – finally – everything works the way I want and I’m happy to be done with this part of my mandatory games list.

Tomorrow I’ll start thinking about the next game on the mandatory games list. Next up is “Bomberman (Or similar top-down shooters, other examples would be Asteroids, GTA, Space Invaders, Raptor, …)” and since I always enjoyed Space Invaders, that’s what I’m going with.
